    As you have probably been aware of, there is only one public boat trip to Isla Verde. If you miss it, you will have to wait until the next day. Thus, going to Isla Verde, the only other option is hiring a private boat.

    Tabangao Port

    Go to Tabangao Port in Brgy. Tabangao, Batangas City if you booked private boat and chose Tabangao as your pick-up point. Moreover, Tabangao Port is where you find all public boats going to Isla Verde.

    Ilijan Private Boat Pick-up Locations

    A more popular pick-up point for private boats is in Brgy. Ilijan, Batangas City. It is because Ilijan is closer to Isla Verde than Tabangao is. Therefore, the service fee is cheaper.

    Driving takes longer though. Here’s Google’s driving directions to Ilijan. The pinned location is the landmark for the exact pick-up point. The boatman will contact you for confirmation.

    STEP-BY-STEP DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO ILIJAN

    Just in case you can’t use Google Map, or any other apps for driving directions, we have prepared this step-by-step guide for you.

    Going to Isla Verde via Private Boat from Ilijan (with a Side Trip to Bagong Palengke)

    Follow these steps if you need to go to the market to shop for food and other stuff; there are no marketplaces in Isla Verde.

    Point of Origin: Metro Manila.

    1. Take SLEX, then STAR Tollway, then exit to Balagtas.

    2. Next, upon reaching Balagtas junction, go straight to Diversion Road.

    3. After that, turn left under the flyover.

    4. Go straight ahead along P. Burgos St.,  then turn right upon reaching rotunda (by this time, you will have gone past the City Hall).

    5. Then, turn left to the DJPMM Access Road 1. It leads to Bagong Palengke. (Bagong Palengke is open from 2:00 am.)

    6. When you’re done with your shopping, from Bagong Palengke going to Ilijan, take DJPMM Access Road 2; just go with the flow of passenger jeepneys passing by the market. You know you are at DJPMM Access Road 2 when you see the Batangas City Sport Center (Coliseum).

    7. Then turn right to Rizal Avenue, turn left to D Silang St., go right to Evangelista St, then, right again to P Burgos St.

    8. Go straight back to rotunda, but this time, turn left and go past the Immaculate Conception Church and to the Calumpang Bridge.

    9. Turn right upon reaching 7 Eleven Convenience Store opposite Shell Gas Station.

    10. Go past Shell Refinery, General Milling Corporation, JG Summit, & Monte Maria. Monte Maria is in Barangay Pagkilatan. Next to it is Barangay Ilijan. Contact your boatman upon reaching the barangay arc to inform him of your arrival, so he can tell you where his exact location is.

    Here’s how to go to Isla Verde Batangas from Manila.

    The first thing you need to know in order to get to Isla Verde, Batangas City is to get to either Tabangao Port or to the pick-up and drop-off point in Ilijan.

    On how to go to Isla Verde, Batangas, the best option is to take a public boat trip at the Tabangao Port.

    Follow the transport directions below if you are taking a bus from anywhere in Metro Manila to Batangas City.  First, take a look at the following list of Metro Manila stations for Batangas-bound buses:

    • Alabang Metropolis
    • Buendia – LRT
    • Cubao
    • PITX

    Now if you are coming from places outside Metro Manila, please contact your local information centers regarding public transport to Batangas City.

    Also, please take note of the boat trip details:

    • Tabangao Port to Isla Verde: ETD 9:00 AM
    • The directions we have here are for passengers bound to Sampalucan, San Agustin Kanluran, where Engracio’s Beach Huts Rental is located.
    • There is ONLY ONE trip and one boat service provider for Sampalucan.
    • Boarding Time: 1-2 hours before ETD (even earlier)
    • No Seat Reservations; first come, first served.
    • Travel Time from Tabangao: 1-1.5 hours
    • Travel Time from Ilijan: 30-45 minutes
    • Both private and public boats use Tabangao Port.
    • Only private boats use the Ilijan as pick-up / drop-off point.

    How to go to Isla Verde Batangas from Manila via Tabangao Port

    Ideally, your bus should be in transit starting 4:00 AM. Traffic is usually heavy in the main thoroughfares of Batangas City.

    Transport Directions to Tabangao Port via Public Transport

    1. From Manila, take a bus going to Batangas City – any one with the signage “Batangas City Pier, Grand Terminal (GT).” Take note that boats to Isla Verde are NOT in Batangas City Pier.

    2. Get off at the GT; then take any jeepney going to Bagong Palengke (there is a Lumang Palengke; please make sure you mention “Bagong” Palengke to the driver).

    3. Get off at Bagong Palengke and transfer to another jeepney going to Tabangao. Tell the Tabangao driver you are getting off at “Biyaheng Isla Verde”.

    4. Next, at the Tabangao Port, look for the boat M/B St. Paul. As of this writing, this boat is the only one servicing passengers bound to Sampalucan, San Agustin Kanluran.

    5. You have to specifically tell the boatman to drop you off at Sampalucan. MB St. Paul stops at the following, in order:


    – Mahabang Buhangin
    – Sampalucan
    – Pajo

    6. There are times, for some reason, all passengers bound to Sampalucan are asked to drop off at Mahabang Buhangin. In this case you have to either walk or take a habal-habal ride to Sampalucan.

    How to go to Isla Verde Batangas from Manila via Ilijan

    If you hire a private boat service to Isla Verde, you have to either go to Tabangao Port or to Ilijan, depending on your service provider.

    Ilijan is closer to Isla Verde.

    Travel time from Manila to Ilijan takes longer than that of Manila to Tabangao. This means that Ilijan is closer to Isla Verde, hence boat trip is shorter.

    Step-by-Step Directions on How to Go to Isla Verde Batangas from Manila

    1. Follow steps 1 and 2 from the previous directions.
    2. Get off at Bagong Palengke and transfer to another jeepney going to SM City Batangas. Then, look for the jeepney with the signage “Libjo”. Tell the driver you are getting off at SM, “Biyaheng Ilijan”.
    3. Next, go to SM’s parking lot where you will find all the jeepneys bound to Brgy. Ilijan. Tell the driver to drop you off at Vista de Puente Resort – the landmark for your private boat’s pick-up point.
    4. Your private boat service will drop you off directly at Sampalucan.
